Spring cleaning for 2009~~~

This is shack....spent the whole afternoon spring cleaning my room. Threw away 5 packs of rubbish.......sealed lots of stuff in my mini 'store room' next to my bed hehehe....means that come CNY i dun have to clean those things...cos as long as i dun unseal the space...no dust will go in ..hahahah

Yes see posters blocking the space heheh....u cannot see whats inside..thats my ministore room...sealed from dust...hahha
And thats my unfinished wall....... took out all my old dusty posters and threw them away...sticking new ones up there....and then i realised i dun have enuf new posters...so left some empty space...nvm...i will find some over the weekend to fill up the gap.
And thats my previous corner....my pc and my white board hehee..

Lunch @ TCC

Hehe this is some post dated entries. I just woke up and realised my handphone has so many pictures over past week and i think they are all not uploaded and blogged haha.

1st up, there was this 1 afternoon that i went to my all time fav TCC for lunch with my colleagues.. Apparently they have "upgraded" their menu. And we see lotsa of new stuff.

This is the Prawn-Cheese-a-Toast . Some snack we ordered to share. Its those kind of once u bite it, the cheese flow out type... ooohh ... really nice if u love cheese. See the 2 pattern at the corner? Thats the sauce... very little thou. 1 is sweet and the other like thousand island pattern.

PL tried this -> "Wild Shrooms Spagehetti" ... lots and lots of mushrooms and vege...looks really vegetarian.


Ok, thats our Ms Ng and Ms LaLa. As you can see, they are very excited about the lunch hahaha... Merry Xmas!!!
My food is here!! "Shrooms N Cheese Sandwich" . The whole piece of patty looks like meat but in fact its only lots of mushroom packed with cheese and somehow "glued" together nicely. Hhehe soft and smooth but the bread below is really hard. Nice garden of veges at the side too.
Thats LaLa's lunch.. Mentaiko Spaghetti with Salmon Tataki...thats a long name. Salmon looks really good and the nice egg there..

Ms Ng's pasta... can't remember which one she order ...oppz... but looking at TCC menu's pictures i think should be "Basil Pesto Chicken spaghetti"

Visit to the zoo!

Wow wow its been ages since i last went to the Singapore zoo! Yesterday went there with my family. Actually the main purpose i guess is to bring little Nana there haha.. Well she is just 2.5 years old and really like animals !! Every single animal we saw we will ask her what is this? And she can answer us correctly. Only some she dunno and then we have to tell her..then she will say repeat after us. So cute!

We also found the new attraction at the kidsworld...there is this mini- wild wild wet area....slides, water splashes etc...There were like so many kids playing with the water games there (including Nana) hahah i was right to listen to PL to ask my aunt to bring along extra clothes for Nana..... =)

1 disappointment was that we didn't see any penguins....somehow the mini animal show only featured monkeys , parrots etc etc..but dun have penguins...and i didn't see any penguin enclosure also =( 

We also saw the 3 famous white tigers that killed someone not long ago...strangely enuf...there were only 3...but Nana was staring at the tigers and said... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.....err.......i dunno where is the other 2..... anyway Nana was very excited and shouted ' Tiger 来～～“  we were like...nono...cannot come !!

Anyway it was a fun 4 hour there hehehe ...although end of the day we were very shack..... next outing lets see whether we can go Sentosa underwater world...

Butterfly effect

Some years ago, i remembered i watched a movie titled "Butterfly effect". Can't really recall the details of the story but what i can remember about the main storyline is that every single decision or action the person mades does bring along a lot of changes / chain reaction.

Weekend passed by very quickly, went ah ma house on sat and went ktv/shopping on sun. Kind of like a luxury for me to be nuaing around on weekends =D

Over the weekend, I was presented with 2 more 'new' things. Perhaps 1 was the butterfly effect of this other. Anyway, I was prepared to react to such sudden happenings hehe....So it did not bring me too much frustration though. Lets just keep a good mindset and see what this monday entils.

Something happened...

Haha as per what i've predicted. "Anything can happen" theory works. As i am trying hard to stop my imagination running in a fully endless loop thinking about the solution. Got an sms that gave me some hope. It is those kind of situation where the options are very clear and easy.. And by choosing 1 option, it brings me nearer to my problem sum's answer.

Ok i noe i am toking rubbish, these are just my thoughts at the moment, full of crap and rubbish. Its those brainstorming stage where u have 1million ideas and most doesn't work. Nvm la, just let me think about it... I'll be fine very soon.

As what i promised myself....i dun have to plan too much...cos "Anything can happen"! My usual old self is to avoid interrupts, avoid unsual stuffs. But now, i am ready , cos i accepted the fact that 'Anything can happen' so all i need to do, is just wait for something and then react. Instead of keep planning and keep thinking about every single nitty gritty detail and start to worry the sky will fall down.

Till then, today my mood is good.... i think i will strike 4D =D

What will happen in 2009??? "Anything can happen"

Hm, this is what is going on in my head now. "What will happen in 2009?" which is next year... or in fact the mth after next. Not too sure about how much of my brain is looking at the optimistic side and which side is looking at the pessimistic side.

Why I say so?? Cos this year 2008!, too many things had happened to me. Its like what we say in chinese, 一夜之间什么都变了。。。。 而且还变得很多很多。 So much so that i cannot even conclude how many % good =) how many % bad. =(

I told my fren, "Anything can happen!" Initially this was just a statement , kinda for stress relieve purposes. I used that because i wan to stop saying "Life is short" ..cos i really can see how sad it is if "Life is really short".... Well anything can happen sounds a bit more optimistic ba? What u think if u are reading this??

Because of this believe of "Anything can happen", at this moment, i tell myself, i shall stop making assumptions, stop having a close mind, stop being too persistent in my plans. Since 'anything can happen', whatever that i visualized may not 1 day be materialized. Whatever that i think is not likely to happen may eventually be present right in front of my eyes. What i can do is to start observing, start having an open mind, start to see things more and start to read my inner thoughts.......

Whatever happens next year..........i got a feeling...it will not just be 改变。。。it will be 转变。。

Time now is 5.30

Yah..its 5.30 now...a bit nua. So decided to stop my coding and come here talk talk a bit before going off to the suntec book fest. See got what lay long there for me to buy waa haa haa.

This few days my sleeping pattern a bit siao siao liao. At around 12 midnight i will be right awake! Can lobo lobo until about 1am before i go sleep. Then next morning struggle to wake up. But sleeping is sound, haha cos not overly tired. Usually when i'm overly tired i will have bad nightmares.

November 08 liao..means 1 more mth for 2009. So what's ur plan for the new year??

E Hub at Downtown east

Went Downtown east again today. Got a b-day party to attend. Was there in the afternoon singing at Kbox with my cracky voice (caught sore throat while recovering from flu) haha.

As the title suggests, me sick today. Down with running nose, sore throat and now i can feel a bit of fever =(

Slept almost the whole afternoon, the drowsy yellow flu medicine is super power. confirmed pengz. Evening time went to pick my health report, seems ok generally except BMI high la haha. Thats expected but other things ok heheh

Weekend going to have lotsa activiites, hopefully after tonite's rest, tml will be ok liao.

My off day

Woke up early in the morning, almost same as working hours. With my hungry stomach ( no food for > 8hrs) i went for my medical checkup. Did the normal height/weight , eye-sight check and did something new ~~ ECG. Have never done this test before was a bit nervous and also surprise that other then fixing the sensor at ur chest, they need to fix at the wrist and ankles.

Next was the horrible scary blood test, I knew whoever who wants to try draw blood from my arm will definitely comment about the missing/hidden/super-fine veins.

Doc: "Em...cannot really feel the veins here. I guess we will take from here instread" (point to the back of my wrist)
Me: "Huh?? Can dun take from here? I think its more painful right? " (doc nodds head)
Me: "Ok then try left side can??"
Doc: "em...can try...but not guaranteed. Lets try once if can't we will still take from the wrist"

After a few minutes, where i was just staring at the small table plant. He managed to draw out 3 tubes ... ARgh....at that moment i was thinking about the vampire story i was reading daily.....

Went for my breakfast ate some porridge and then went home straight. Somehow felt very tired so i slept till 1 pm before getting ready for the TV delivery !!

TV came and adjustments was quite ok.. Here some pictures



Was connecting to my mini-laptop to do some dead pixel test. Hehee showed my little cousin NaNa's picture on my desktop =D

A happening weekend Part 2 - Sunday

Now is Sunday night 10.43pm and I am blogging here about my today's activities. Early in the morning went for some family activities and then started my TV hunt session with my mum. 

We went to Carrefour to see the various models and sizes etc. And it was there , we decided we wanted the 37'' TV and both agreed Sharp is the brand. At first i was quite into Samsung brand but i noe my mum is only happy with Sharp. Looking at both the brands whatever my eye can see is really sama sama for both. Since we are really not into blue ray HD movies and SG now only has HD5 channel and we dun have SCV box, there is no need for full HD TV. So it was quite confirmed we wanted 

a) Sharp Brand -- according to salesman, only sharp has panel made in Japan. All other panels are made elsewhere. As you noe, mums quite typical when they hear.. JAPAN they will WOW very good one.. Then the person said the other parts is manufactured in other countries..hahah

b) 37'' one --- cos our existing is 33'' traditional squarish. The new 32'' LCD really looks very small to us...can't bare to pay for that size.

There were good offers like very big ones that can take in trade in of existing TV but then ..so big also cannot display in my small living room. So i guess next time ba. maybe 10 years later. ( Note: my current spoiled tv life-span was 10 years)

After getting some details, we went to the harvey norman next to carrefour.. ok it sucks...sales person is horrible the way he describe things... in 3 mins we left the shop. And then we proceed to the bigger harvey norman at millenium walk. I'm quite into buying things from there because of the 5-year warranty. (1 for 1 exchange when ur appliance is beyond repair)

True enuf, my 'long' trip to Harvey was not wasted. The exact same model we see was flagged at a price $300 less than what was listed in carrefour, plus there was $100 NTUC voucher for redemption and the standard free delivery. Sales person was also quite good providing answers to questions i asked. 

We also went to watch HD channel 5 there and realised no matter what brand / size u see.. Its still the same!! Its never crystal clear like those demo sets. Those crystel clear are actually showing HD movies so of course its very clear la.. And different models will show different clips, like some display flowers very nicely, some display sky la, animals la etc etc. All clips are shown to tune to whats best displayed on them. So when u watch a full wall of 10+ different size and brand showing same channel , u can really see that our normal TV channels are not so fantastic clear now.. maybe in near future ba. 

Satisfied with the package, with 5 years warranty. This is what i bought.

A happening weekend Part 1 -- Saturday

What a happening weekend!! First up Sat went Orchard for shopping...didn't buy much stuff except for 2 blouses but it was great just going there look-see look see.. 

Met lala after her course and we went to Heeren for our dinner.. 5th floor's restaurants are mostly ready in operation except 1 chinese restaurant . We had our main course at Waraku and desserts at this new NYDC's Diner there...WOW it was really nice. The decor was a bit different from usual NYDC and the cushioned chairs are some specially designed pattern. BEST thing. there was some sort of fashion show on-going..while eating some models will be outside cat-walking hehe got very nice looking ang moh =D

Korean style pan cake at a japanese restaurant hahaha..cool right? Never took much picture cos was too hungry and the place looks really dark.

Hah~~ My fav cheese cake dessert at NYDC. Priscilla's favorite--> warm chocolate sauce over the yummy cheescake. And lala ordered some mudpie -forgot the name..but its really nice too..and we also pour more warm chocolate on top of it hehee.

After dinner and desserts , we went shopping around walking here and there. Then we went to Robinsons and realised it was 10.30 pm but show no signs of closing. Since every other shop are all off-from-duty liao.. We went walk around in robinsons, hahah, so we discovered there's late night shopping till 11pm. Made a plan that we shall go there to shop for clothes soon =D. At that timing, its really very nice!!! 没有人的 ！！！ 哈哈

Went back after we met lala's govt to lobang me home. Think reach home slightly before 12 ba...1st thing i saw when i open my door was my mum super disappointed face..she said... 电视机真的坏了... then i immediately replied...then can buy LCD TV liao lor!! There continues my part 2 weekend ~~ Sunday shopping for TV

Hehe, this is a happening public holiday eve i should say.

6.30pm ~~ Me, lala, DK & Jessie aka 'Cai Bor' met up at Brewerkz new branch at Bukit Timah. Dinner was average, food was just normal but i love the beer hehehe...'Ocktoberfest' they only have this brew in October I think. Cos last time there was once i went during other months and they blank out that brew. Also discovered that they have new additions now, there is something call Singapore Pale Ale not sure nice anot. I love the Indian Ale brew so i suppose this will be great too.

9.00pm ~~ As DK suggested he wants a place with a better atmosphere, we decided to head down to Holland V's Walaa Walaa. Jessie say there is great live band there. We waited for quite some time for the bus and when we reach there, we realised the place is jammed packed!! The band's performance havent started yet but then we can't even find an area to stand comfortably, let alone for a place to settle down.

Soon we came up with lotsa of ideas on where to go. Finally we decided to go straight to Clarke Quay where all the pubs & lounges are. Surely we'll be able to find a place with nice music for our 2nd round of drinks.

9 ++ pm ~~ Clarke quay was quite crowded already, we walked past a few places with nice neon lights and music, some look like need age limit, some got dress code requirements, so we couldn't get in...finally found a place with very nice live band -- Crazy elephant...but then it was PACKED.. so sian...the music was very nice lor! but no seats means no seats...MUST really try this place the next time i go.....bo bian...we had to walk round to find another area.

10 ++ pm ~~ We chosed to try a place called Highlander.. got some live band performance but from the outside it did not sound very impressive and loud. We went in and then started ordering cocktails and their house brewed beer. Not too bad...live band quite ok with some songs cos i heard before... but jessie was better in identifying the english songs...ok...she is more ang moh heheh

Finger food was great , wedges and spicy chicken wings for us. As the night passes, there are in-between breaks for the band and they will blast dance music. WOW my fav hehehhe enjoying myself with those familiar dance tunes..

We stayed that chit chatting, eating and drinking until wee hours hahah left around 2am ++ hehe. Lets wait for Lala's blog to see the photos man!! U can see how red someone became.... =D

Wasting time once in a while

Well as part of my annual routine, once a year there will be this period of time where all the exams are over and my tuition classes pause for a while. And then my free time-slots will be spent on thinking about "What's next?" Plans for next year, what kind of schedule i want....

So at this moment, i am still thinking about the possibilities....wasting time surfing...writing..listening to music...enjoying my liang cha 

Quiet night

Time now is 1.33am. Supposed to go sleep at 1am just now but then just dun feel like sleeping yet. So came online check some mails and surf a bit of net here and there.

Hm...it came to me that nowadays internet is really everything, whatever i want to find out be it simple or complex. The net will definitely give me the answer i want. Just that for things that are not so common it may take more time. But whatever it is...just refining the search or change the method.. confirm can find de.

It has also become more and more scary that dunno whether whatever i read from the net is real or fake? Sometimes will repeat the search at various places so as to confirm all sites say the same thing. But sometimes may feel that maybe they also reference materials from 1 another?

Like i saw 1 blog...writes about some methodology that i find that it really impress me. Then i saw this button tag that says voted best xxxxxx blog.. So i click the link then to view what sort of award this is. Then to see that there are many categories that they can win an award. Sounds impressive that this site got voted in . Only later then i realised the author actually voted the blog in. Win liao lor!! Ownself vote ownself hahah... But then again, if u are not so detailed, u won't even see it man!

Anyway, what i can conclude from this incident is that...dun really need to trust all resources from the net fully. They can be very good reference pts..but whether the solution / answer u found is right / wrong?? That is up to u to find out.

Weekend

This weekend going back office.... once a year "event". Heng this yr afternoon one...so morning still can sleep hehehe... Hm..maybe can go eat mac breakfast first.

Going eat sakae sushi later at some place call Icon tower....some new building at Tanjong Pagar area. Lets hope the place is not crowded later.

A shack weekend

As the title suggested, I had a shack weekend...Nonetheless its a fruitful 2 days. 

Looking forward for the next holiday 27th October for a good rest.

Didn't meant to purposely listen to others' conversation. But then again I was walking past and the conversation was really funny.

xx sales person : Eh Uncle, are you interested to apply for xyz credit card?

Uncle : Huh? 什么？

xx sales person: Oh uncle, 你要不要申请 xyz 信用卡？

Uncle : Aiyah, 信用卡都是没有信用的， 用未来钱的， Uncle 我很有信用的， 我们用cash的、

xx sales person: 不是这样的。。。。。

And the sales person goes on bla bla bla....i walked too far so nv catch what he say. Only can see from the uncle expression that he is trying to explain to the sales person, its not good to have credit card haha.

So funny, nv thought uncle will talked back...usually those who not interested will just shake head shake hand and siam lor....And typical SG pattern, they won't siam if there is very attractive free gifts haha.

The image

For past few weeks, the image in my mind was beginning to turn clearer. But then yesterday something happened or rather i heard something. And it came as a pebble splashing the image . It enters blurry mode again. Sianz...

Then again when i wake up this morning. I found another new image appearing. Seems to be somewhat similar but a little modifications.

Meanwhile, life goes on till I reach the point of conclusion.

Just some random crapz

Is there this book that has the contents of whats going to happen to each and everyone. All the good and bad things, all the easy and tough decisions, all the consequences etc etc etc. Wouldn't it be good we can just flip the book and it will state these options, if you wish to do this, turn to page xx, if u wish to do that turn to page yy. And then right there, u can see ur results..so u can make a better decision.

I once watch a movie titled 'Turn Back Time'. Can't remember the exact details of the story, the main plot was the female lead decision that started off at a train station. And the decision that she made lead her to a total whole different life story. The movie shows the various things that happened to the lead after each decision made. Correspondingly also shows the other scenario.

If u could turn back time too, then what would you do?? turn back 1 day, 1 week, 1 month , 1 year?? What sort of changes you would want?

For me, I usually dun think about turning back time, i'm more interested in the future, as in what will happen if i do this or if i do that. Of course there are times i tried to imagine it was only yesterday , so that i can still be with those that i missed so much.

At this point of time, nothing really bothers me, just that i am sleepy and yet i am waiting for something so i cannot sleep yet...so surfing and blogging can help take away some waiting time man.

Read an email quote today too, it says Time is not money, Time is life . Well it makes sense...although i still feel that if you dun have money, there is no point having a lot of time. You will just feel very miserable.

My 1st post from my acer aspire one mini

Yes! My very 1st blog post using my mini. Ok so far so good. Although it is really very small but typing is still quite fast because they didn't shrink the keyboard. Its still the same size and layout that i am used to.

Quite easily connected to my wireless modem and so far the speed looks ok. Was downloading anti virus updates la, windows update la..firefox etc...quite smooth in loading too.

Today's cough getting slightly better. Went see the chinese sinseh and he says i am having 风咳 ...no wonder i cannot talk too much cos when wind enters my thorat i will have that itchy feeling and i will start coughing.. No aircon for me at night also....it will cause me to cough a lot and then i cannot sleep at all.

Tomorrow's another packed day, evening going ah ma house then can play lanterns with NaNa hehhehe so happy.

Still coughing..

Sianzz....still coughing...at night so lack of sleep. Makes me even more pek chek. Haiz.

I hope over this weekend i will fully recover. So many things i want to do. AND SO MANY THINGS I WANT TO EAT.

I dun care if sunday i still not ok..i will still eat moon cake.... its 中秋节！！！！

Going collect my acer mini laptop tml . Hee hee...at least something to make me happy. Plus i also going collect something important. Guess what it is pple!!

Wasted Weekend!

Super sian weekend...cough cough cough. Since wednesday mild cough..then thurs became bad cough,thurs night was the worst.... when i talk, i will cough, cannot talk at all. So sad...
Medicine that doc gave me doesn;t seem to be working well. No choice, today go see my chinese doc. Hopefully chinese medicine will help.

No mood to do anything.. What a wasted weekend. And I can only stare at the mooncakes but cannot eat. =(

More Teachers' Day presents.

Hm it has been a very long and tiring day for me today... but i am really very happy & (very full becos of the buffet dinner) that i am just not sleepy and wanna share these with those who reads my blog.

Received a few more gifts from my students today...

And the cards that they designed! WOW... i nv did these when i was a kid...my art is really horrible all the while...but these kids are fantastic....ask me how old are they man!!!

For all these years, teachers' day has always been "just another day". When i was still a student, this day is a day where we have 1/2 day school on the eve...sing songs , perform for teachers..give them presents..hee hee and haha and then get another holiday off from school. When i started my tuition classes, I do receive little gifts here and there or small little notes they write on the wrappers like "Happy Teachers Day", "Thank You".... etc etc... Frankly speaking, all this while, when i receive their presents, all i felt was this...

" em....very happy ... at least they show appreciation and not take me for granted..."or "I am paid to teach them..so actually quite paiseh they buy things for me" etc etc...

Strangely enough this year i got another kind of feeling... I felt touched by what they wrote.
Perhaps its because I know they personally wrote it themselves (not parents do one..) Or maybe the feeling of "being a teacher" has sinked in my mind.. I dunno how to explain...but its kinda a different emotion.... 9 years tutoring... then i get this feeling...and at many times, i have that 冲动 to stop my lessons... and go take some Masters or what... But somehow...many factors will bring me back there..



Or perhaps its no longer a money making process but rather a passion.......

Till that feeling becomes stronger.... I am still who I am..... {Someone who can spend 24hrs like 48 hrs}
