Observations of people culture in TW

1) How to identify other Singaporeans?
Ans 1a: When u hear "Eh go there sit with ur gor gor"
Ans 1b: When u press the lift for someone and you hear her say.. "Thank You"
Ans 1c: When people behind u says "Excuse me"

2) How to attract attention?
Ans: Do what my fren do, wear short sleeve tee-shirt when EVERYONE is wearing long sleeve in thick winter coats , windbreakers etc etc. As u walk along the shops, pple will turn and stare at u. Most extreme case shouted : "Eh 你穿短袖！！"

3) How to jay walk to cross the road?
Ans: TW roads jaywalking is a bit different from SG, cos you probably dunno which direction will have cars and which direction is waiting for u to cross the zebra crossing. Best solution is to follow another local, when they jaywalk, stick closely to them.

4) How to siam a crowded xmas nite out under heavy rain and 11 degrees?
Ans: Buy instant noodles + cakes + sandwich + drinks and nua in hotel room !!

4 more days before my long awaited holiday break to Taiwan followed by Hong Kong. A completely 100% free & easy tour this round. Hee hee rough plans drawn up but definitely flexible.

Special activities this time round
1) Jolin concert on Xmas Eve
2) Meeting up with LX and Jo at HK. Haha long time no see wor!
3) Transit flights... ok sua ku me 1st time to take transit flights. Sounds like a cool adventure to me =)
4) Floral expo at Taipei. Well something special and lucky us , we are in time for the exhibition.

The list of things go on...買東西吃東西，買東西吃東西。。。。 啊！ 還有！KTV !!!! Missed it last year, this year confirm confirm must go sing at the TW KTV!

Till then, Counting down few more days.....all set and ready to go!

Phones and Gadgets ...endless temptations...

My first android phone was HTC Dream ( aka Google G1) . This very first Android phone is now my spare phone at home. I wonder if i plug in now will it update itself to Android 2.2 =p . Perhaps will charge it up this weekend and try.

Currently still luving my google nexus. Fast and fun and fulfills my needs. But at the same time tempted by other phones available. If u ask me, i wouldn't want to opt for a switch. Chances are i would hog on > 1 phone. 

Window shopping around just now...and then i saw many nice earphones again. Have to keep reminding myself i already got enuf spares ( and they are good spares) earphones/headphones... Enjoying music from my creative zen x-fi2 now with my cx55 / Ep630 also got the accessory headphone gold color Onto  but still am tempted to try how good the music will sound if i get the Ultimate Ears

Great! Its wednesday and I'm smelling weekends already. And November is coming very very soon.Should I get an early Xmas present for myself ? 

Life is short, do what you like and this is my life....spending on food and gadgets =)

Knowledge

Gaining knowledge is just like preparing a bullet proof vest. The more you learn, the better vest you have, the lesser you learn, the more holes there. When you wear your vest, the survivor from the bullets is the one that is the most knowledgeable one, the one with 100% preparation can just move forward, get hit and still well protected.

So what happens to those that are not that knowledgeable? Those who didn't had the time / chance / didn't even make the effort to learn more? How do they survive then? The answer is clear, you learn how to siam.....u find ways not to be in direct contact with the bullets. 

This is call crapping under drowsy medicine effect. Dun ask me anything now. My answers are nonsense.

2010 Tiger Year New Year Resolution

Huat ah!!! Its finally the new lunar new year. A new year of good luck and prosperity. My 8 new year resolution!! Huat ah!!!

1) Give myself more time... Time to stop buzzing around so much but keep more personal time for myself. 

2) Save more money! Have been spending a good deal of $$$ . Time to save up more!

3) Learn something new. Learnt golf in 2009. So i would want to learn something new in 2010!!

4) Change my stubborn thinking....have been way too stubborn in a lot of things. Perhaps time to let go of those and see things and people in another perspective.

5) Aim to achieve this balance point.... that is [Work hard & play hard!!!]

6) Stay healthy ! Yes , i must ALWAYS control my junk food intake....and drink more liang cha...so i can be "neutralise" and not so zhua!

7) Travel! --- Yes i am addicted....so this year i want to go somewhere again! But i have to do the above 6 before i can "permit" myself for travel. Especially point number 2, i have to save pass my "target" point. Then the excess for travelling & shopping!! Yippee.

8) The most important new year resolution!! STAY HAPPY ALWAYS!!!!! HUAT AH!!!

1 month ago . . .

Last month today,I was at taipei ! Kind of missed the holiday carefree feeling . Waking up everyday ready to go shopping and exploring places , seeing things that I have never tried before . Each day ends with planning for go where tomorrow !

Indeed getting out of town is the only way to fully re-charge my body , mind & soul . BUT ... it discharged my wallet . Anyway guess its worth it , recharge 3 for 1 item ! And I know I gained much more than just the 3 items .

Its been 13 days since i came back!

Oh, today is 15th Jan liao. Wow its been 13 days since i came back from Taiwan. Exactly same duration of my trip there. 21st Dec to 2 Jan (13 days). Hm...how come it feels like time here flies so fast de!!! Perhaps cos daily tasks are rather routine so at the end of 2 weeks, u hardly felt u have done many things.... Unlike during trip, everyday is an exciting new day with lotsa of NEW things.. different places, different hotel stays, different food, meeting different people....

Hm...yes, 被人说中了, once i start travelling, i might just like it and want to travel more..... I used to say, thats not possible la.. But hahaha,...... here i am thinking of ....when can go another one? Keeping my left over TWD, cos it should be a place worth more visits. Probably also would want to go HK, hahaha best is got Kenny concert !!!

Back to reality, its time to save up since travelling would need budget. But then again, CNY is coming!! Shopping for new clothes and new accessories time and of course CNY goodies. There after March is coming hahahhaha.....of course my b-day present! Its going to be a new phone. CONFIRMED!!!! =)

2010 is going to an exciting year, i can feel it when it was 2009. And now is 2010, i can feel it even more ! As usual, my conclusion is always the same old line, "Anything can happen" .

Today is Christmas dae. Here I am in taiwan for my 1st tour. today is the last night for my free and easy tour. Tomorrow we be joining the tour group from singapore .

Have been at taipei the past 5 days . I would say this is indeed a great learning trip for me . From preparing for things to bring , Taking plane, hotel stay and tour around . I have seen and learnt a lot . Culture difference and peoples behaviour ,transportation are all different .

The country size also made me once again reflect how small we are . Just the entire taipei city . Is already much bigger than singapore . The metro mrt map looks as complicated as our mrt map. travelling from one place to another generally is quite easy via the mrt.

New year countdown....hotel at taichung

Haha just back from our own tour group mini countdown cum fireworks show . The group was really onz and bought quite a number of firework crackers from the 逢甲夜市. It is really very diff here and in SG...here anyone can just buy the fireworks, find an empty field and start displaying ur own fireworks display liao.

Time now is already 12.35am, the tv already showed the taipei 101 fireworks has completed and also other areas countdown party fireworks. But here back in my hotel, i still can hear & see, many others still popping the fireworks into the sky.. SHIOK!!

Will upload my own video of the fireworks when i go back...somehow my netbook cannot copy out the video recordings,...think must use the lumix software to grab those clips.

Just now called my kakis back in SG, knew they all having their own party at CCK there...haha quite fun la..to noe everyone also happy enjoying themselves.

Its 1st Jan 2010 now, yes....2010 year is here! Will be back in SG 2nd Jan nite, meanwhile let me continue to enjoy my last 2 days in Taiwan.
